Thursday Evening

Today I realized that I like almonds
I didnt think I liked almonds
But alas, I do

Had a very busy, productive week
Filled with some phenomenal music
Charley Paige show Wednesday
This girl
So emotionally raw
Such a beautiful talent

And then new Musiq Soulchild and India.Arie albums
Those two are so soothing
They make real soul music
And it's so inspiring

In a lot of ways I'm realizing
Life, for me, is about connecting emotionally with other human beings
Connecting through music
Connecting through friendship
Connecting through love
Connecting through touch
Connecting through art
Connecting through talk
Connecting through humor
Connecting through thought
Connecting through shared experience
Connecting through time
Connections. Bonds.
That's what we as humans are built to do.
Not to get too graphic
But if you look at from a purely physically sense
Quite literally, we feel pleasure from bodies being interlocked
And touching... connecting
So really, sex stands for all the other kinds of connections we gravitate toward

Superficial relationships confuse me
And I'm talking on the friendship level
I realize they are convenient
But such a bad investment
They're like eating really bad, super processed food
They serve a purpose at a particular time
But ultimately do you no good
I much prefer real friendships
And I pride myself on being a great friend
I'm proud of the amazing people I have in my life
And how I've maintained those relationships over time
Artificiality is such a waste

A little deep today!
Thats ok
I guess thats why I have a blog
And write songs
And sing them

On to something completely unrelated
Tuna
Pouch or can?
When the idea of tuna in a pouch first came out
I was ENTHRALLED
I thought it was phenomenal
SO EASY
And I hate dealing with can-openers
Theyre so unsanitary
But as time went on
I realized the tuna pouch is not all its cracked up to be
Firstly, the tuna is very mushy and has way less taste
And I'm convinced they put way more preservatives
And nitrates and bad things
So I'm back to the can
Except NOW some cans have the pull lid
that dont require can openers
And some don't
WHY DONT ALL TUNA CANS HAVE PULL LIDS?!?!?
Truly perplexing
