Rory Arnold: 20-Year-Old Media, Music, Multi-Talented Maestro

Born and raised in Andover, Massachusetts, Rory Arnold has taken over New York City in a short three-year period by getting his feet wet in all arenas music and media related. He has been involved in major record labels, produced music beats, and written heartfelt song lyrics. Not to mention he blogs and writes articles for various projects, and also hosts his very own show.

I know, I feel completely unworthy and unsuccessful at life.

Rory has been a great motivator and friend through my New York experience. I had met him through a mutual friend and we instantly bonded over our taste in music: R&B. Though I personally appreciate all genres of music, if I had to put my finger on just one, it would have to be R&B. Rory was probably the only person I had met in my life that concurred.

It wasn't until our friendship grew I realized how hands-on and creative Rory is. He's also hilarious, and his new talk show, "The Rory Show," which premiered on March 23, has been successfully growing a huge viewing audience. It airs twice a week every Monday and Friday at 7 PM on www.theroryshow.com.

I'm jumping a little ahead of what my initial story was: to describe Rory's multi-tasking entrepreneurial skills. His brand new talk show has been basically the top layer of all of the other projects he has worked on in his past. Ask him anything about the music industry and he'll give you the most honest and in depth answer. Test his knowledge by asking him who he considers the best R&B singer of all time, and if you disagree with him, he'll prove you wrong. Rory is confident, knowledgeable and credible in many subjects.

He has interned in the publicity department for Warner Brothers Records, and in the radio promotions department for Columbia Records. He is also presently a writer and interviewer for an online music review website known as Urban Bridgez Group and has interviewed a random assortment of hip-hop and R&B talents such as Brandy, Lyfe Jennings, and Sean Garrett to name a few. His fascination and eagerness to learn in the music industry is all congruent to his own personal goals. He writes beautiful songs and also hopes to one day become an R&B singer, as he is currently recording his own album, which will soon be released.

Rory's insatiable hunger for success does not end at just landing great internships after internships. He also partakes in the online-media community by founding his own blog, www.theroryblog.com, and uploading and producing his own YouTube videos. To refer back to his own talk show though, it all came about as a spin-off to one of Rory's highest achievements: "The Rory and Summer Show." This show ran from May 2007 to September 2007 with co-host and best friend Summer Key, and he had decided to branch off and start his own show by talking about his own personal interests.

"The most important thing to me, though, was finding a way to include an audience to make it more of a two-way conversation rather than me self-indulgently blabbing for ten minutes," he said in response to what his own show will portray. He creates a very interactive and involved platform for his show, and has been getting a ton of great reviews and hopefully will come up with greater ideas for even more projects- his ideas are limitless!

Rory motivates me and others to never consider a limit- there are bountiful opportunities and ways to create yourself a life you want to live. He lives his life to the utmost positive level, and constantly tests the waters to see what else he could do creatively to conquer the world.
